Biography
|
I was born in Yorkshire, England in 1951 when my Dad, John Dobson, was stationed at RAF Church Fenton. We saw postings to Cyprus, Waddington, Finningley, Tengah and Leeming. It was at RAF Tengah where I was given my first camera and discovered my love for photography! I then went to college to do a degree in photography and my first job was a photographer at Porton Down, Salisbury. I was awarded an Associateship of The British Institute of Professional Photographers and eventually set up my own freelance photography business "Amber Visual", in the town of Machynlleth in Mid Wales, from where I worked all over the UK and Europe for individuals, small companies and large internationals.
I've had two exhibitions of my work and won several awards with images in private and public collections as well as book covers, calendars, newspapers, books and magazines. I moved to Columbus, Georgia, USA in 1999 and worked in TV and then as a Photographer/Graphic Artist for a defence contractor before becoming a freelance once more specializing in advertising, commercial and Fine Art photography.
