Old snaps showing one of the Anti Aircraft guns at Seletar. The one shown was near the beach not far from the swimming pool, there was another not far from our bungalow at Edgeware
Road were we used to play. The 'Confrontation' with Indonesia was at its height & and there was a threat of air raids. The Royal Artillery had several gun emplacements at Seletar, I believe there were others manned by RAF Regiment at other parts Singapore. The gunners were pretty easy going & didn't mind us kids hanging
around. |
