Living so close to the Botanical gardens
(just across the road from our quarters)
meant we often had visits from
hungry monkeys who used to noisily
bang the bin lids to get our attention.
These photos were taken round the
back of our quarter in Demsey Road.

My best friend Jane Carden-Horton, she also
lived next door. We used to spend all our money at the Amahs
market on Monkees records and practice dancing to them.

where I am standing was an underground car park for Raffles

My Mums certificate of cholera vaccination,
this was the necessary downside of living in Singapore as
the vaccinations used to make me very ill.
