My friend Lindsay on the left

and myself aged 10.

I think this was taken in the Botanical gardens.

Living so close to the Botanical gardens

(just across the road from our quarters)

meant we often had visits from

hungry monkeys who used to noisily

bang the bin lids to get our attention.

These photos were taken round the

back of our quarter in Dempsey Road.

My best friend Jane Carden-Horton, she also lived next door. We used to spend all our money at the Amahs market on Monkees records and practice dancing to them.   Wish I could make contact with her again.

Our lovely Amah "Kim" in the front porch of 4 Dempsey Road 1967

Myself shopping by the BOAC building. This photo was taken in front of the Oriental Emporium, the spot where I am standing was an underground car park for Raffles Place and is now Raffles Place MRT station.

Pasir Ris

The tree that my Mum is sitting on

is one we used to jump off into the sea.

You can see from these photos the gaping holes that had to be netted further down to keep the sharks out!

You could stay in the rooms at the end of the swimming pedang with a fantastic view over the straits to Jahore Baru

My Mums certificate of cholera vaccination, this was the necessary downside of living in Singapore as the vaccinations used to make me very ill.
